If I Can Dream house grill bonanza
Check out all the delicious food we grilled the other night. With the exception of me and Alex almost getting blown up, this meal was super simple and easy to prepare. Grilled wild salmon with herb garlic butter, heirloom tomato bruschetta on grilled bread, tons of fresh grilled veggies and fresh whipped cream, strawberries and angel food cake..... Who says you can't have a summer BBQ in spring. Get inspired by your local farmers market and seasonal produce, almost anything can be grilled with a little sea salt and olive oil!!
Heirloom Tomato Bruschetta
-3 cloves garlic minced
-5 large heirloom tomatoes diced in 1/4 inch squares
-olive oil
-pinch of sea salt
-pepper
-splash of red wine vinegar
-7 large leaves of basil thinly sliced
-1 loaf country bread
Slice bread into 1/2 slices, grill until slightly golden and crispy. Gently rub bread with a clove of garlic. Mix all other ingredients and spoon over the grilled bread.

I guess I know what kind of BBQ I will try this weekend. So used to doing BBQ pulled pork, slaw, green beans, corn, and huspuppies. I know, not to healthy. But it is a tradition. These are good recipes Caitlin. I will try them. Keep up the good work and keeping Alex at bay!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the Greek salad. I could never remember what went into it. All of this looks great.
ReplyDeleteHey Caitlin
ReplyDeleteThere has been some discussion recently (among highly regular viewers...) regarding the deficit of leftover appreciation in the house. It flared up again when some folks saw your Justin-meatloaf tossed during clean-up. We know you have encouraged them to save and eat leftovers.
How about dedicating one meal a week to leftovers? Show them how it can be done - maybe join them for that meal (at least the first one - so they are not suspicious).
PS - Any chance of showing folks how to compost and getting that started in the house?
Thanks - LMNtelAte
